General and boring An airplane or aeroplane (informally plane) is a powered, fixed-wing aircraft that is propelled forward by thrust from a jet engine or propeller. Airplanes come in a variety of sizes, shapes, and wing configurations. Commercial aviation is a massive industry involving the flying of tens of thousands of passengers daily on airliners.

Classification according to the type Transport aircraft Military aircraft Sporting airplane Experimental aircraft

Airplanes use these drive unit Jet propulsion The blade drive Bladeless drive Propeller drive

According airfoils Monoplanes Biplanes Triplane Ducks (The aircraft have placed before the elevator wing) flying wing (aircraft have a single bearing surface with the function of the elevator and wings)

According to the type of runway Overground Aquatic
