Staying Safe on Spring Break Simple Tips for Student Safety

Travel with responsible friends and classmates Take turns when driving long distances Keep all appropriate documentation easily accessible in the vehicle Ensure that the vehicle has emergency equipment Inform family members of travel times and destinations Travel Safe

Party Safe If 21 and over and you decide to drink, please remember to: Be responsible; pace yourself NEVER leave your drink unattended Avoid alcoholic beverages that are stronger than you are accustomed to Familiarize yourself with local liquor laws Designate a responsible, sober driver

Research lodging on official travel websites for consumer ratings Reserve a room centrally located; avoid rooms near stairwells or elevators Provide friends or family members with all travel information Request paper copies of hotel transactions Review all charges Be aware of your surroundings especially when using ATMs or in large crowds Communicate with family or friends daily during your stay away Select Safe Lodging
