Creative curriculum Week of 30th October: Autumn fun Week of 6th November – How to catch a star ………. Fantastic Finale! A visit to space in the Cottis rocket! Personal, social & emotional -Creating a photo memory book -Gain confidence in new situations -Work co-operatively in small groups during Key Group activities -Discuss feelings and emotions and how the boy might have been feeling -play “Name rich” games to support friendships   Communication, Language & Literacy -Following simple instructions whilst being a “Happy Helper” -Labelling own pictures and work -Using words to make requests -sharing stories with the group of time spent, having a Cottis’ star to stay -Letter hunt around the village.   Expressive arts and design -Making stars with lots of natural resources, - Clapping out a rhythm to nursery rhymes and names -exploring instruments and sounds – pretending to be fireworks -transient art, Winter pictures using a photo frame   Physical development -Dressing and underdressing - coats, soaks and shoes -developing fine motor skills with conkers and golf tees -learning actions and signs to songs and rhymes -Using different tools to construct with a purpose   Understanding the world -Using shadow puppets to explore light and dark -Celebrating Children in need and discussing children from around the world -experiencing different seasons – Autumn and Winter and changes in the environment Mathematics -Numeral recognition -Growing and measuring -Spotting shapes in our environment -Measuring time during routines - Reflection and symmetry
