Don’t mark over the boxes below since you’ll be using this menu all month. Happy Spelling! Comic Strip Spelling Write and illustrate a comic strip that uses half of your Spelling words. Color Patterns For 10 Spelling words, write the vowels in one color and the consonants in another color. Words in Words Write a Spelling word and then write at least two words made from the letters in that word. Do this for at least 8 words. Word String Like a string of lights, write all of your Spelling words together without any spaces. Create-a-Story Use 7 or more of your Spelling words to write a creative story. Underline your Spelling words. Ransom Letters Cut out 3-5 newspaper or magazine pictures or letters showing the spelling words diagraph syllable pattern. Puzzlemaker Make a word search or crossword puzzle @ puzzlemaker.com. Print it, solve it and bring it to school. Word Sort Think about how you can create categories for all of your Spelling words. Write them in the categories you’ve made. Vowel Voyages Circle a vowel and the vowel team. Write 3-5 Spelling words using that vowel team and then underline the words with that long vowel sound.
