RDQ 16 Use of Screeners for Identifying Additional Support Discussion Leaders: Barbara Mitchell, University of Missouri, Deanna Maynard & Daniel Rector, MO SW-PBS

Use of screeners for Identifying Additional Support RDQ 16 Use of screeners for Identifying Additional Support This question and answer RDQ will allow participants to bring their questions and concerns about the use of screening for identifying school- wide, class-wide, targeted, and intensive support for students. Guiding questions: What barriers do schools face when considering engaging in the screening process? What is the moral/ethical obligation that comes from universal screening? Do schools need to get permission to do universal screening? How to prepare staff for literacy with the instrument so you get consistency across teachers? What preparation/data literacy skills are necessary to make meaningful decisions from screening data? What schools do you need to consider when selecting a screening instrument?
