Nottingham Curriculum Night 2017-2018 Wednesday October 4, 2017 6-8pm Principal David Maynard

The Personalized Learning Mission in SCSD “My goals, my pace, flexible time, flexible space” If schools create engaging classrooms that include goal-setting, varied pacing, open access to learning resources, and flexible grouping, then effort and ownership among students and teachers will lead to personal and academic success.

Nottingham Core Four STUDENT REFLECTION DIGITAL CONTENT My Goals DIGITAL CONTENT My Pace, Flexible Time Teachers plan and provide multiple opportunities that promote student choice and ownership. Differentiate digital content that is relevant and engaging These definitions are specific to Nottingham based on our design plan that we created with the PL team Data-driven Instruction My Goals, My Pace, Flexible Space SMALL GROUP INSTRUCTION Flexible Space Implement a station rotation model that targets student learning needs. Use data collection to identify student needs and drive small group instruction Use digital tools to deliver frequent checks for understanding (FA). Use data for purposeful student groupings that creates multiple learning opportunities.

Basic PL Classroom Foundation Each station is best suited to address different learning levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy. What is Humanities? Collaboration between ELA and Social Studies. Developing students’ skills for success after high school Departments plan interdisciplinary projects each quarter. Projects center around Social Studies content and infuse reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills to demonstrate understanding.
