Setting: Spain Context: Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) Conflict: Collection of Left-wing socialists and communists with support from Stalin vs. General Franco – Fascist, Right-Wing Army leader

Vs. Republicans – fighting to restore the socialist leaning democratically elected government that came into power in 1936. Collection of left leaning groups. Nationalists – led by General Francisco Franco who led a partially successful coup in 1936.
