Myths/Facts about pregnancy Myth or Fact? A pregnant woman doesn’t need to visit the doctor until she begins to show, or look pregnant. MYTH Regular doctor visits from the beginning of pregnancy until birth are recommended to ensure health.

Physical Changes for a Pregnant Woman Trimester – First trimester (also “signs of pregnancy”): Nausea (morning sickness) Increase in breast size Breast tenderness Frequent urination Increased tiredness three months of pregnancy.

Monitoring Tools Ultrasound High-frequency sound waves used to create an image of a developing fetus. Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS) a prenatal test in which a piece of the developing placenta is removed and tested for inherited disorders.

Natural – body rejects defective embryo Unnatural – from infections, vitamin deficiency, accident, drug use Stillbirth – when a fetus dies and is expelled from the body after the 20th week of pregnancy. Any of these symptoms should be referred to a doctor immediately!
