We are pleased to announce the addition of four new attorneys to our premier Local Government defense team.

Salina Ali Salina received her Juris Doctorate from South Texas College of Law in 2008. Since then, she has served as defense attorney for a large volume insurance carrier and as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Dallas, prosecuting city code violations and Class C misdemeanor offenses. As a litigator, she is also versed in energy and contract law. Salina served as a Judicial Intern at the First Court of Appeals in Texas.

Denis Potvin Denis received his Juris Doctorate in 2010 from Mississippi College School of Law after graduating cum laude from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.   Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Potvin managed an insurance defense docket including personal injury, premises liability, and intellectual property suits. As a successful commercial and civil litigator, Denis is adept at handling business disputes, corporate, commercial, and employment law.

Karen Singer Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Singer served as Senior Assistant City Attorney in the Labor, Employment, and Civil Rights Section for City of Houston. She has also worked as a contract attorney in Enron-related litigation. A successful and seasoned litigator with experience defending employment and commercial claims, Karen ‘s diverse background also includes practice in AmLaw 100 and AmLaw 200 firms in New York City, counseling for risk avoidance and administrative law. Karen received her Juris Doctorate from Brooklyn Law School and ranked in the Top 14% of her class. She was in the Moot Court Honor Society and received the American Jurisprudence Award for Unincorporated Business Associations.

Andrea Chan Ms. Chan received her Juris Doctorate in 1990 from the University of Houston Law Center. Additional credentials include a Master of Public Health in Management, Policy & Community Health from the University of Texas School of Public Health, a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Oriental Studies from the University of Pennsylvania.   Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Chan served as Senior Assistant City Attorney in the Labor, Employment & Civil Rights Section and the Defense Litigation Division for the City of Houston where she handled state and federal appeals that resulted in over 100 reported opinions.  She also served as a Briefing Attorney to the Court of Appeals in the Fourth Court of Appeals District.
