Cylindrical – Polar Coordinates Writing equations of motion using polar coordinates Calculating Velocity and Speed Values

Applications Cylindrical coordinates can be used for 3 dimensional motions In the figure, to calculate the velocity and the acceleration of the boy, we should use cylindrical coordinates.

Applications Polar(cylindrical) coordinates can be also used for 2 dimensional motions. If the motion of the object is on two dimensions and the location from the center r changes, we should write the equations of motion using polar coordinates.
