FCAL Activity at the UC Santa Cruz Institute for Particle Physics (SCIPP) Bruce Schumm Principle Investigator 1

SCIPP Focus In-situ Radiation damage studies Completed test with standard Si sensors to 220 Mrad Intend to continue to higher doses, and to try more novel technologies Simulation Studies Are developing detailed BeamCal reconstruction simulation (continuation of U. Colorado studies)

SCIPP Personnel Physicists: Bruce Schumm (PI) 20% time Vitaliy Fadeyev 10% time Support: General engineering/technical staff (Max Wilder, Forest Martinez-McKinney, Ned Spencer) ~10-20% FTE overall (somewhat flexible) Undergraduate students (Conor Timlin, Reyer Band, Christopher Milke) 5-10 hr/wk each
