Getting Started Find/Search Colleges

What are your interests? Create your college list by selecting your “best fit” options. What are your interests?

Use all of the resources available! See what schools are interested in students like yourself with College Match. Use College Compare to see how your choices compare to each other. Use Scattergrams to see acceptance rates of scores similar to yours.

Create your “thinking about” list… As you find schools that interest you, add them to your “thinking about” list. This will help you have more meaningful conversations with your counselor about selecting the right school.

Using the Common App? Follow the instructions of the school you are applying to. Be mindful of dates.

COMMON APP www.commonapp.org If you are using Common App, you have to “match” that information in Naviance.

Requesting transcripts 3 Requesting transcripts Release From, Checklist, Money

Do NOT request your transcripts through Naviance. Follow these steps. Get yellow release and green sheet from post grad. 2. Complete yellow release and green sheet from post grad. 3. Return yellow release, green sheet and $3.00 to post grad. 4. Post grad will send your transcripts to your requested places.

Money is available! On chargerpride.com there is a list of “local” scholarships. The file is updated weekly. Currently, there is close to $60,000 worth of scholarship money waiting to be awarded!
