Running the Gov’t Chief Executive As Chief Executive, the Prez presides over the administration of Gov’t Constitution “take care that the laws be faithfully executed” Today, Federal bureaucracy spends $2.5 trillion year and numbers more that 4 million employee Prez. appoints 500 higher level positions & 2,500 lesser jobs

Sooo...Who helps the President???

The First Lady Not official position but many get involved politically Recently many focus on a single issue Michelle Obama: Healthy Food Hillary Clinton: Health Care Melania Trump: Children (drug addiction, bullying, poverty, disease, trafficking, illteracy or hunger)

Vice President Has 3 main jobs Takes over the Presidency (if something should happen) 25th amendment Votes in Senate if there is a tie (happened very recently…do u remember???) Head of the Senate Usually try to pick a VP that complement the strengths of themselves 14 VPs have become President due to death, resignation, or winning the office Usually hard for VP to win office in the 20th century Ask Al Gore “the most insignificant office that ever the invention of man contrived or his imagination conceived”

Office of Management & Budget (OMB) Primary responsibility is to prepare the BUDGET PROPOSAL 1 of the most powerful agencies in Washington Assemblies the budget docs. and monitors fed. Agencies throughout the year 2 reviews (spring and Fall) Create Economic Report for the Prez. by Jan. on the budget
