Basic principles of broaching
In broaching metals and alloys, HSS broaches are used at cutting velocity of 10 to 20 m/min and carbide broaches at 20 to 40 m/min. The value of tooth rise varies within 0.05 mm to 0.2 mm for roughing and 0.01 to 0.04 mm for finishing teeth.
