Quoting an author If you are using words directly from another person's work, you must reference it correctly. You must do this in text and in a bibliography
Quotations match the source word for word are usually a brief segment of the text appear between quotation marks must be attributed to the original source
In text referencing makes use of quotation marks '' and can look something like this. Dickens begins A Tale of Two Cities with the famous line 'it was the best of times, it was the worst of times'.
Punctuation lies outside of the quotation marks, and single ' quotation marks are generally used for short quotations. Double '' marks are used during longer quotations. Quotes can also be referenced in brackets at the end of a quote. For example 'It was the best of times, it was the worst of times' (Dickens).

Bibliography A bibliography is a list of all the sources you have used throughout your essay. A bibliography typically includes the authors name, the title of the work, the date of publication, and the country where it was published. For example Dickens, Charles. A Tale of Two Cities. (1859), United Kingdom.

Analysis This is a man who has left the slow paced, relaxed atmosphere in the Caribbean, and has been transplanted into the grimy, busy atmosphere of city life.
