Multiply a Teens Number By a Single digit (Unit)

What is a Teens Number? 13 14 15 16 17 18 19

Teens numbers are: 13 14 15 16 17 18 and 19

What is the same about Teens numbers? Yes! They all have ONE 10 and a unit

First partition your teens number: 13 x 6 will be 10 x 6 and 3 x 6

Multiply the 10 10 x 6 = ? 60

Now Multiply the Unit 3 x 6 = ? 18

Add both answers together: 10 x 6 = 60 3 x 6 = 18 60 + 18 = ? 78!

13 x 6 = 78

Can you x 15 by 3? 15 x 3 = ? 10 x 3 = ? Yes it’s 30! 5 x 3 = ? Yes it’s 15!

Add your 2 answers: 30 + 15 = ? = 45

How about 16 x 4? 16 x 4 = ? 10 x 4 = ? 40 6 x 4 = ? 24

Add your 2 answers: 40 + 24 = ? = 64

How about 17 x 3 ? 10 x 3 = 30 7 x 3 = 21 30 + 21 = 51

Well Done ! Now you are ready to multiply a teens number by a single digit (unit) Try these and …… Good Luck!

Find the answers: 14 x 3 = 17 x 2 = 18 x 5 = 16 x 7 = 15 x 4 =
