With our product, customers could get their prosthetics in a matter of hours, for a low price. Significance: Majority of customers are those in the military. Our product would give back to them. Customer archetype profiles 1.Current U.S. Military soldier, male, late 30s, has insurance, has a wife and a child, middle class 2. Retired vet, 74, male, grandfather, has insurance. 3. Anesthesiologist, early 30s, works at University Medical Center of Princeton 4. Retired vet, early 40s. PTSD victim. Has insurance.
Interviewing Customers Mike: U.S. Military, likes low cost and good quality. Replaced his prosthetic once and paid close to $30,000 to get the first one, and then replace it. Trusts his doctors for good recommendations. Robert: Doctor, likes to get patients their products on time and likes to have the products please his customers. He likes to have things on time and would like to have a reasonable cost on these products. Agnes: Doctor, thinks comfort and cost are very important for patients. She also believes the right size prosthetic can make a huge difference for the patient, especially for a prosthetic leg, because they are the most expensive and usually give people the most discomfort. Ross: Veteran, stressed from very long process to obtain prosthetic; it took around 5 months to arrive. Very costly, however, insurance covered a great deal. Stuck with the temporary prosthetic for too long. Always paranoid about breaking or losing it because of expense and time to acquire.
Our Experience Prosthetics can be uncomfortable! People want one that fits with no pain. Replacing a prosthetic only happens every so often, but wearing one happens every day. In addition, prosthetics are expensive. Hypothesis: We thought quick delivery and easy access was important. However, quality and comfort is foremost for prosthetic users. Experiments: We interviewed many people and got different opinions about their problems with prosthetics. Some of these included cost, comfort, and longevity. Results: We found that most people want a better product that does not cause them discomfort, they also want it in a short amount of time and and at a lower price than they usually get it from their doctor.
