Presentation by US FAA: Ms. Mo Keane, Senior Representative for Africa to share views on the safety oversight situation in Africa in the liberalization process.

ICAO Policies on charges for airports and air navigation services Presentation by ICAO: Mr. Evalou Gnang, Regional Air Transport Officer To give on overview of the key principles of ICAO’s policies on charges, including performance measurement and benchmarking, cost recovery of airport security measures and balance of interest between airports/air navigation services providers and users, as well as the status of the policies.

14:00 SESSION 3: ICAO ECONOMIC ANALYSES AND DATABASES (EAD) PROGRAMME   Moderator: Mr. Christian Folly-Kossi, Secretary General, AFRAA Presentation by ICAO: Mr. A. Sainarayan, Economic Analyses and Databases Section, Air Transport Bureau To provide an overview on the best practices to be adopted to collect and meaningfully interpret the accounting and operational data. To discuss the role of High level indicators and measures to monitor performance, improve benchmarking and address infrastructural gaps 15:30 Coffee break

Sainarayan, Economic Analyses and Databases Section, Air Transport Bureau To discuss: a) how to utilize data to generate Management Information systems (MIS) and forecasts for facilitating Senior Management decision making; b) the role of exposure data in arriving at accident rates and the analysis of safety data to predict and improve safety of operations; and c) the need for common standards , taxonomy and definitions in accounting of financial and operational data. 16:30 Questions and answers
