In a paragraph (5-6 sentences), please summarize the plot of this section.

Within this section, Odysseus/Homer personifies a specific thing on line 79. What is the thing being personified? How is it being personified? Personification: Giving inanimate objects or abstract concepts living qualities *Discuss using author when talking about the construction of the text and speaker when considering emotions Homer personifies the morning by converting the word dawn into a proper noun. Homer also provides the morning sun with ringlets, converting the non-gendered sun/morning into a female.

Cite Odysseus’ instructions to his men about eating the lotus. Odysseus indicates to his men, “ ‘ All hands aboard; come, clear the beach and no one taste the Lotus,’ “ (Homer 103-105).
