The Meditation: PASTOR: Lord, show us the “gift” you have given to each one of us – leading, comforting and encouraging, thinking critically, teaching, managing and making money (giving), serving, whatever it is. PEOPLE: Forgive us for using gifts, talents, abilities, and even acquired skills in the market place and not in your kingdom. Some among us have never seen our own gift-set that draws us to like our job or makes us effective in some role as God-given. But it is. And it belongs to you. PASTOR: Some of us have no idea how the work we do during the week relates to your kingdom. Work is sacred to you. You made us to work! To be productive. PEOPLE: Help us to discover your kingdom on our jobs, to see the relationship between our daily tasks and your lifetime purposes for us. Help us to see that you planted us throughout culture. We are missionaries to that social sector. Help us to stop compartmentalizing our lives between the sacred and the secular, between Sunday and Monday. Every day is holy to you. The Profile … The Bairwa are located in the fertile regions of the Indo-Gangetic plains of North India. Education has become an important means of progress so the Bairwa emphasize education for their children. They follow Hindu marriage practices. However, widows are allowed to marry, there is no child betrothal and polygymy is allowed. They are known for their skill in making mats and ropes. The Bairwa are Hindu and worship many gods, goddesses and saints. Prayer … Pray that God will raise workers and send them to preach the gospel to the Bairwa. Pray that the word of God is provided in the language and in a way the Bairwa will understand the gospel of Jesus. Pray that all Bairwa children are educated and that Christians have a hand in the effort to educate the Bairwa. Pray that the Holy Spirit will work among the Bairwa convicting them of sin and the need to repent and be saved.
