Parents with Disabilities Program Update Community Advisory Committee May 9th, 2017 Hej hej alehoup, min hetter Ar Today I am here to share with you an update on Access’ Parents with Disabilities Pilot Program after almost three and a half years of service.

Background FTA New Freedom Grant designed to: Provide services to parents with disabilities who travel with minor children for childcare needs Three Year Pilot Program - $1.1 million Capital (2 Vans/1 Cut-away) $166k Contracted Services $940k Service available in Northern Region (MV Transportation)

Program Features Designed in consultation with customers and social services agencies Enhanced service to meet parent needs Linked Trips Extended wait times (10/20 minutes) Same Day trips for emergencies(4 one-way trips/mo.) Schedule to Arrival Time Reduced ($1/per passenger) fare No shared rides

Current Program Status Three Year Pilot/Grant, operating since December 2013 Cost per trip- $40.87 Customers enrolled - 44 Average monthly trips - 575 Average On Time Performance - 98% Same day trip request- 24 trips/month (4% program trips) Average Trip Length – 31 minutes / 5.25 miles

Grant Funding Sunset Grant funding is projected to end in Fall of 2017 Continue through June 2018 with some modification Next Day & Standing Order trips Remove Exclusive ride component Reduce “mid-point” wait from 20 mins. to 10 mins. Same Day trips Change price of Same Day trips from $1 to $3 Outreach Plan for Program customers

Program Findings There is a small ADA-eligible population that benefits from a program of this kind From Access’ leadership with this Pilot, Access has gathered valuable data for a “model” No other known programs that would be capable of taking over all or part of this program, but Access is willing to work with other agencies
