Integers: Real Life Problems Adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing

5 + ( -4) = 1 Real Life Problems Mona went to the library and checked out 5 books. She returned 4 books. How many books does she have out? 5 + ( -4) = 1

Real Life Problems Allen was in the elevator of a 45-story building. He went up 24 floors and then went down 30 floors. What is the difference in the number of floors from where he started? 24 – 30 = -6

(-3)  4 = -12 Real Life Problems The month of January has been extremely cold. The temperature is decreasing 3°F every hour. How much has the temperature changed after 4 hours? (-3)  4 = -12

-15 ÷ 5 = -3 Real Life Problems Scientist have been concerned about Lake Elmwood. The water level of the lake dropped 15 inches over a period of 5 weeks. At what rate did the water level change per week? -15 ÷ 5 = -3

59°F – (-129) = 188°F Real Life Problems The coldest temperature ever recorded in Antarctica was - 129°F. The warmest recorded temperature was 59°F. How much warmer is the warmest temperature than the coldest temperature? 59°F – (-129) = 188°F

Type 3 FCA’s Must create a real life situation that includes positive and negative integers and math terms that is 3 to 5 sentences (5 points) Problem must require addition, subtraction, multiplication or division to solve. Solve the problem correctly in your presentation (5 points) Correct capitalization and punctuation (5 points)
