Prayer for Ipswich 2018 ‘whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.’ Mark 11.24

God’s love and care for Ipswich John 3:16 I will sing the Lord’s praise, for he has been good to me. B I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever. Ipswich is a land that the Lord our God cares for. A We declare hope in our town in 2018. B Thank you that Jesus has come to comfort all who mourn, to provide for those who grieve, to bestow on us a crown of beauty for ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. All: God is good. His love endures forever.

God’s vision and plans for Ipswich Jeremiah 29:11 As for me, I will always have hope; I will praise you more and more. B I will sing of your love and justice;     to you, Lord, I will sing praise. The eyes of the Lord are continually on Ipswich from the beginning of this year to its end. A Lord, help us to see Ipswich with your eyes, to love Ipswich with your heart, to speak to Ipswich with your wisdom and to work in unity for your plans and purposes… B …that we might be carriers of your hope, love and justice in this town. All: God is good. His love endures forever.

God’s peace and protection over Ipswich Deuteronomy 11:24 & Isaiah 54:10 I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’ B I will praise you, LORD, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. Ipswich belongs to God. A We stand together as God’s people on the ground He has given us. B We pray for peace and protection in our town in 2018 and declare that no weapon formed against Ipswich shall prevail. All: God is good. His love endures forever.

God’s sovereignty over Ipswich 2 Chronicles 7:14 A I will sacrifice a thank offering to you and call on the name of the LORD. B In the night, LORD, I remember your name, that I may keep your law. God is sovereign over this town. A We pray for the leaders, decision makers and influencers in our town to have vision to see Ipswich as you see it, to work together in line with all you have commanded, so that Ipswich will become all you have created it to be. B Teach us your ways, O Lord, that we will rely on your faithfulness and walk in your truth; give us undivided hearts that we may fear your name. All: God is good. His love endures forever.

God’s fruitfulness within Ipswich Deuteronomy 11: 8-9 A For what you have done I will always praise you in the presence of your faithful people. B And I will hope in your name, for your name is good. Ipswich, we declare the goodness and fruitfulness of the Lord over you in 2018. A Father, we receive all the good gifts you have prepared for us and for this town. B May seeds that have been planted bear fruit in this season. We proclaim 2018 to be a year of positive reputation and prosperity for Ipswich. All: God is good. His love endures forever.

God’s revival of Ipswich Deuteronomy 11: 13-14 I will come and proclaim your mighty acts, Sovereign LORD; I will proclaim your righteous deeds, yours alone. B Open for us the gates of righteousness; we will enter and give thanks to God. Lift up your heads, gates of Ipswich that the king of glory may come in! A Together we pray, ‘Your kingdom come, Your will be done, here on earth, in Ipswich, as in heaven’. B Send your rain, that this would be the year we see the good news proclaimed, the broken hearted healed, the captives freed, the prisoners released from darkness and many returning to Christ. All: God is good. His love endures forever. Amen
