January 2017 Introduction This presentation proposes BRP TRN subfields definition for EDMG SC PHY for MIMO with CB based on the design proposed in [1]. The proposed design reuses the same Golay Sequence Set (GSS) already defined in the SFD for EDMG-STF/CEF/GI, [2]. Intel Corporation

SISO EDMG TRN Subfield Definition January 2017 SISO EDMG TRN Subfield Definition The legacy DMG TRN subfield is composed of 5 repetitions of Ga128/Gb128 Golay complementary sequences. The DMG TRN subfield definition is written as follows: TRN640 = {+Ga128, -Gb128, +Ga128, +Gb128, +Ga128}; The sequences are transmitted using π/2-BPSK modulation; Applying Golay correlator and combining A and B outputs, one can estimate CIR for given AWV configuration. The cyclic extension of DMG TRN subfield is proposed in [1] to define EDMG TRN subfield as follows: EDMG-TRN6N = {+GaN, -GbN, +GaN, +GbN, +GaN, -GbN}; where N = 128*NCB, 1 ≤ NCB ≤ 4; Intel Corporation

MIMO EDMG TRN Subfield, NSS = 2 January 2017 MIMO EDMG TRN Subfield, NSS = 2 It is proposed to define EDMG TRN subfields for the 1st and 2nd streams as follows: TRN16N = {+Ga1N, -Gb1N, +Ga1N, +Gb1N, +Ga1N, -Gb1N}; TRN26N = {+Ga2N, -Gb2N, +Ga2N, +Gb2N, +Ga2N, -Gb2N}; where N = 128*NCB, 1 ≤ NCB ≤ 4; Note that the Ga/Gb sequences keep the same sign order in both streams as in the legacy case. To allow MIMO channel estimation, it is assumed that (Ga1N, Gb1N) and (Ga2N, Gb2N) have Zero Cross Correlation (ZCC) property. Intel Corporation

MIMO EDMG TRN Subfield, NSS = 4 January 2017 MIMO EDMG TRN Subfield, NSS = 4 To generalize the TRN MIMO subfield definition for NSS = 4, it is proposed to select Ga/Gb sequences signs in different spatial streams based on the orthogonal P matrix defined as follows: P = {+1, +1 +1, -1}; The process illustrating signs assignment for TRN subfields is shown in figure below. MIMO EDMG TRN Subfield, NSS = 4 (Cont’d) January 2017 MIMO EDMG TRN Subfield, NSS = 4 (Cont’d) Let’s consider an example of Golay correlator outputs combining: Golay correlator output for m-th receive antenna: 1st N samples: +(Ya1N + Ya2N) + (Ya3N + Ya4N); 2nd N samples: -(Yb1N + Yb2N) - (Yb3N + Yb4N); 3rd N samples: +(Ya1N + Ya2N) - (Ya3N + Ya4N); 4th N samples: +(Yb1N + Yb2N) - (Yb3N + Yb4N); 5th N samples: +(Ya1N + Ya2N) + (Ya3N + Ya4N); 6th N samples: -(Yb1N + Yb2N) - (Yb3N + Yb4N); For streams 1 and 2 one combines the outputs starting from the second N samples with the following signs order {-, +, +, +}: (Yb1N + Yb2N) + (Yb3N + Yb4N) + (Ya1N + Ya2N) - (Ya3N + Ya4N) +(Yb1N + Yb2N) - (Yb3N + Yb4N) +(Ya1N + Ya2N) + (Ya3N + Ya4N) = = 2*(Ya1N + Yb1N) + 2*(Ya2N + Yb2N); If we perform Golay correlation matched to the 1st stream, then 2*(Ya1N + Yb1N) survives only due to ZCC property. Golay Sequences Definition January 2017 Golay Sequences Definition The Golay sequence length is defined as follows: EDMG TRN subfield: N = 128*NCB, 1 ≤ NCB ≤ 4; Hence the following sequence pairs are required: (Gai128, Gbi128); (Gai256, Gbi256); (Gai384, Gbi384); (Gai512, Gbi512); All required sequences are already defined in the SFD for EDMG-STF/CEF/GI fields and can be reused, [2]; Intel Corporation
