A/N 26 16:00 Access finished problem with the BLM test. one crate is failing the beam permit test. Fixed. Access required in sector 78 for QPS to fix a quench heater supply. 17:50 Machine closed. tried to ramp RB.A78 to injection. but tripped at the start of the ramp. 18:20 Arm BETS beam1 & beam2 with RB.A45. RB.A56. RB.A67 & RB.A78 at 450 GeV successful Precycle 12 23 34 45 56 67 81

A/N 26 78 81 at injection current. trying to arm the BIC. Problem to reset the B1 excursion interlock from YASP. so decided to mask it to go-on. Lars informed and will investigate tomorrow. Problem with the BLM in point 5 and 6 solved. managed to get the beam permit from BLM. TCDQ not in injection position. so we mask also. The same for collimators. All vacuum valves in the ring opened. manually. problem with the handling of the command sent from the sequencer to the PVSS ... looks like we need to check the RBAC access maps. Will contact Vac controls group tomorrow morning [Alick] 19:50 manage to arm Beam 1 loop. but not beam 2.

A/N 25 PLI3.b3 performed on RQF/RQD.A81 - all the threshold of symmetric quench detectors increased. - ramp to 2 kA redone on RB.A78 with EE at the plateau to check - PCS done on RCBXh1.R2 - RCBXH3.L5 tripped again - RU.R4 . manual ramp to 200 A with 0.0025 A/s2 worked. BIS problem. Despite all systems are given User_Permit=True. not possible to close the B loop for beam-2. loop A for beam-2 and both loops for beam-1 are all OK. An access in point 6 will be necessary for further investigation.

summary As agreed with Ruediger and MP3. PGC tests on hold as long as the dipoles are limited to 2 kA Precycle done for all sectors .the related beam process is still in the 3.5 TeV Hypercycle.. some circuits did not load the functions. see logbook for the lists. Ramp to 1.18 TeV done for all sectors but 78 .tripped during pre-cycle ramp down. initiated by RQF. RB.A78. reduced pyramid to 2 kA done. RCBXH1.R2 done. ok Sector 81 was brought to minimum current after the ramp at 1.18 TeV in order to start the pyramid at 5 kA for RQF-D. It tripped when going from on standby to off. Subsequently. the main quadrupoles were tripping with no clear reason .likely QPS.. and therefore the pyramid was not started RU.R4 tripped when running the sequence with the new parameters.

26th - plans Access and patrol IF 81 is ready to power pyramid Point 6 BIS, LBDS QPS IF 81 is ready to power pyramid 12:00 machine closed BIS and LBDS test QPS tests (ramp 78 81) Pre-cycle all sector Safe Machine Parameters System
