Welcome to Our New ILPQC Project Coordinator! Welcome Danielle Young, MPH, ILPQC Project Coordinator! Neonatal Golden Hour: Communication Practices

Neonatal Golden Hour: Delivery Room Practices Justin and Leslie, the DCC line reflects now all infants <32 weeks with the 30+ seconds versus previous which was 30-60. We compared the two lines and they are overall similar with the exception of a more pronounced slope to the dip in the 30+ line in late 2016 early 2017. OK - Leslie

Checklist to Complete Golden Hour Initiative Submit ILPQC Golden Hour Data Form data through December 2017 by March 15, 2018 in REDCap Facilitate completion of education with all providers and nurses Review data for 3 key process measures with your team Connect with your Perinatal Network Administrator if you are not yet at the 80% debrief, delayed cord clamping, or temperature goal Develop sustainability plan with your QI team (draft plan provided by ILPQC), submit to your Perinatal Network Administrator Continue to collect / submit data on sustainability measures for compliance monitoring. Compliance data form and reports active on April 1 Also available for download

Supporting Teams to Sustain Improvement QI Support for teams ILPQC will review measures on a quarterly basis to identify teams not at goals for outreach Perinatal Network Administrators will connect with teams still working towards GH Goals All teams that (1) submit all data through December 2017 by March 15, 2018, and (2) meet or exceed the 80% delivery room debrief, 80% delayed cord clamping, and 80% temperature goals by December 2018 will receive (when both criteria are met) an ILPQC QI Excellence Award Certificate and Letter of Commendation to their hospital administration congratulating them for achievements for the Golden Hour Initiative! Sustainability plan template available for download

Sustained Improvement Metrics Data form will collect data on these process measures: Delivery Room Debrief Delayed Cord Clamping Temperature at NICU/Specialty Care Nursery Admission Monitor sustainability reports for these goals: ≥80% of all high risk deliveries completing delivery room debrief ≥80% of infants < 32 weeks gestational age receiving delayed cord clamping for 30+ seconds ≥80% of infants < 32 weeks gestational age admitted to the NICU/SCN with temperature between 36.5 - 37.5 degrees Celsius

Updated GH QI Awards BRONZE: Advocate Condell Medical Center – Special Care Nursery St. John’s Children’s Hospital Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital SILVER: AMITA Alexian Brother Women’s and Children’s Hospital Edward Hospital GOLD: Northwestern Memorial Hospital AMITA Health Adventist Medical Center Hinsdale After the ILPQC 5th Annual Conference in December, we re-reviewed your hospital’s quality improvement data based on updated Golden Hour Quality Improvement award criteria to include infants <32 weeks who had delayed cord clamping for at least 30-60 seconds (≥30 seconds) based on the most recent delayed cord clamping guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics and American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist.

Congratulations! Updated GH QI Awards All Quality Improvement Award winners and their award levels (e.g. Gold) will be acknowledged via: ILPQC website Neonatal GH monthly email Annual Conference slides on website Special recognition at the Face to Face! For the three teams not receiving a banner at the Annual Conference a banner will be printed and shipped to their hospital
