Third Grade News January 29, 2018 Vocabulary: disagree, dislike, disappear, prepaid, preschool, precook, previous, rebuild, return, resell, reprint, unwrap, unlucky, untied, unbeaten Vocabulary: wealth, alarmed, anguish, necessary, obsessed, possess, reward, treasure January 29, 2018 Dear Parents, Report cards will soon go home. Please take the time to talk with your child about his/her grades and any subject they may be struggling with. Students will start taking the PORTFOLIO TEST this week. It is imperative that all students are here every day and on time. Remember that tutoring starts at 7:30am sharp. Breakfast will be served to them at 8 a.m. Mon., Jan. 29th – STEAM Project is due! Tues., January 30th – 3rd grade fieldtrip Wednesday, Jan. 31st - Snow Cone Sale $1.00 Friday, Feb. 2nd - Take Your Son /Daughter to Work Day Dear Families, This week we will continue reading from our textbook, McGraw Hill Wonders. We will be reading “Athena and Arachne” and “King Midas and the Golden Touch”. We will be focusing on myth/drama, theme, and root words. Science: Students will begin learning about Sound Energy. Remember the STEAM Project is due in class on January 29th. Social Studies: Students will continue learning about government and will also be reading about current events from their weekly Scholastic News magazine. Students will finish working on chapter 8 and begin chapter 9, Compare Fractions . It is imperative that students are working on I-Ready Math and Reflex on a daily basis.
