Pre-Ninth Grade Credit Pre-9th grade high school credit is awarded from in-district middle schools only. Letter grades only Opt out in middle school or request removal by the end of the 1st semester of 9th grade.

9th Grade Required Courses All 9th graders are required to take English Math - choice PE Patterns Physics US History - choice Inquiry and Leadership
Here’s Where Students Get a Choice: Math US History World Language 1 - Elective
Math Course Selection Math course selection should be based upon your 8th grade math teacher’s recommendation IB Pathway available regardless of math level If your desired math class is not listed you can write in the appropriate course
US History You can select US History or US History Ethnic Studies Both classes fulfill US History graduation requirement
World Language Students are required to complete 2 consecutive years of a World Language Spanish Immersion students will take Lengua y Literatura 5-6 Spanish Immersion students can enter LHS with between 2-4 language credits based upon their STAMP test results

Alternates Place an A1, A2 ... beside your alternate choices. Each elective should have an alternate.
NEW Online Coursework Guidelines Online Health and PE are no longer accepted by PPS!! Students are required to take Health 1-2 and PE 1-2 at LHS, Portland evening and summer scholars All online coursework must be approved by your counselor prior to registering. See your counselor for the pre approval form. If your class is not pre approved you may not receive credit on your transcript
Forecasting Sheet- DUE DATE JANUARY 12, 2018 In PPS? Turn in Forecasting Sheets and proof of residency to the main office at your school Not in PPS? Submit directly to LHS, Room 104 Parents are now required to provide proof of residency Lincoln is their neighborhood school. Parents should attach 2 original approved documents to their students completed forecast sheet. Examples include: A mortgage statement dated within the last 30 days A lease or rental agreement valid for the current month Utility bill dated within the last month Note: Students who qualify as homeless under the Federal McKinney-Vento Act are not required to provide proof of residency in order to enroll in school. If you believe your family may qualify as homeless, please contact your school counselor.
Forecasting Verification Form A Forecasting Verification Form will be sent home once your course requests have been entered into Synergy (February - March) Students need to return signed verification forms to current school main office with any desired changes Be thoughtful about your choices as we are making tough decisions about course offerings and hiring teachers to reflect your requests Once you submit your verification form you will not be allowed to make schedule changes in the fall
Changing Classes in the Fall Changes will only be made for students who have completed summer coursework or were placed in the wrong level Please choose your classes carefully!!
