Two Ways for Implementation With RILM Grant Support Without RILM Grant

How can a club start e-learning WITHOUT GRANT? Select location & decide number of e-learning facilities Identify schools & obtain consent Select software & hardware vendors- RILM short-listed vendors or local one. Obtain baseline school information (using Form No EL. 4.1)

How can a club start e-learning WITHOUT GRANT? Supervise installation of e-learning facility & upload signed copy of installation report online. Survey other facilities in school(using Form No. R1.1 ) on same day. Ensure training on hardware and software Upload the completed project through the Project Reports Section -> Member Zone on www.rotaryteach.org

How can a club do grant-linked project? RILM Grant is available to Clubs only when funds are available for E-learning from Corporates “Project Offer” notification on TEACH App and website 2. Confirm commitment to Project Offer online 3. Fill grant application online (websiteMember Zone Grant tab) by identifying schools and obtaining other relevant information

How can a club do grant-linked project? Receive in-principle approval to grant application from RILMO to start implementing 5. District and/ or Club signs MoU with RILM 6. Club supervises installation, training on use of facility and other specifics as per the MoU.

Grant Approval Process Level 1 Primary Contact Level 2 Club President Level 3 Rotary DLCC/ Inner Wheel DC Level 4 Rotary DG/ Inner Wheel ZLC Level 5 Rotary E-Learning National Committee Chair/ Inner Wheel Association President Level 6 RILMO

How can a club monitor the PROJECT? Undertake monthly monitoring visits, using Form No. EL. 6.1(a), for the period of a year Quarterly Visits for Feedback from Students (Form No. EL.7.1(a)) Teachers (Form No. EL.7.1(b)) Parents (Form No. EL.7.1(c))

Case Study Background: Inner Wheel club of Panvel carried out a survey at 8 Municipal and 2 ZP schools of Panvel for installing e-learning facilities, under the RILM’s E-learning program. After the survey, it was observed that these schools faced major drop-out due to the lack of learning facilities. Initially classroom learning was dull and monotonous, leading to huge dropouts and poor retention ability among students. IWC of Panvel was strong-minded for setting up a digital classroom in the school which will equip students with the skills and knowledge obligatory to set a strong foundation at an early stage. Also, IWC was confident that the intervention will reduce students drop out ratio by making the process of teaching and learning by engaging students resulting to improve school attendance. Also, this will build interest of students in school studies because of the interactive teaching methodology. IWC successfully explained to school authorities about the need of e-learning facility and received school consent for the same.

……….. Program Intervention: RILM has shortlisted hardware and software companies who have agreed to provide quality products at subsidized rates for the Clubs. According to the school’s teaching medium and state board curriculum the clubs selected Software along with android based projector from RILM’s prescribed vendor list and installed it in the schools. The club successfully installed 10 e-learning facilities, 8 in Municipal schools and 2 in ZP schools. The training of the teachers on the usage of hardware and software were also provided by the vendors.

…….. Outcome: Post installation, school authorities conveyed reduction in absenteeism and enhanced interest among the students to study because of the available visual aid for learning. School also informed that the audio visual method has enabled students to absorb and recall topics very easily. Every year there is an evaluation of students from Municipal administrative office and for the year 16-17 their results have zoomed up from 75% to 95%. More than 2000 students are benefitting from this project.
