Presentation transcript:

Dear Teacher What do you want me to know about you? At least 3 things. What was the last book you read that you enjoyed? What did you enjoy about it? What did you least like about the book? If you were an author what kind of books would you write and why? What do you find difficult about reading? What are your hopes for this year in regards to reading?

July 31, 2017 Dear Students, I am excited about having you in my class July 31, 2017 Dear Students, I am excited about having you in my class. I love to teach and really enjoy reading. I have taught in Cobb County for 11 years. I have taught Kindergarten, third grade, fourth grade, sixth, seventh and eighth grades. I have taught Social Studies, Language Arts and Reading since coming to Lovinggood. One of my favorite past times is reading, especially when I go to the beach. The last book I read was a suspense novel called Vanished by Irene Hannon. I am currently reading a nonfiction book by Beth Moore, Believing God. I just bought a new novel Every Deadly Kiss by Steven James, who is my favorite author. I have been waiting for months for his new book to come out. This is book number 8 in this series. His books are very hard to put down! One of the things I enjoyed about Vanished is the characters are believable. They seem like ordinary people. The story had just the right amount of suspense. It wasn’t predictable and easy to figure out. The plot had several twists that kept me guessing. What I didn’t like about the book was that it will not have a sequel. It was a “stand alone” book. That means that it is a single story and will not continue. I’m always kind of sad when I come to the end of a good book. I don’t want it to end. If I were an author, I believe I would like to write suspense novels involving the FBI or the CIA. I would really like to research about the people and characters I wanted to write about. Imagine getting to go and visit the CIA or the FBI for research? I would probably enjoy the research as much as I would enjoy the story. What I find most difficult about reading is not having the time to read. I REALLY love to read. I hate to be at school when it’s raining because rainy days are wonderful reading days! I hope that this year I can help you to enjoy reading. You may not learn to love it as much as I do, but I hope that you will at least discover a great author that you enjoy.   Sincerely, Mrs. Puckett
