What is Speed Cubing? SpeedCubing is a sport which involves solving the Rubiks Cube and other Such puzzles as fast as possible. All official competitions are officiated by WCA (World Cube Association). The World Cube Association recognises 18 official events. A competition can have any number of events from 1-18 depending upon the scale of the competition. Big event have all 18 events. In India speedcubing is a developing sport with over 7000 active registered cubers in India and immense pool of untapped cubers.

About SCMU SCMU was started back in 2011 by a group of college students to promote the cubing scene in India and give it the recognition that it deserves. SCMU was the first oganisation in India to organise a stand alone WCA (World Cube Association) affiliated Rubiks Cube competition. Since Then SCMU has organised 20 competitions and helped in organising over 35 competitions! SCMUs annual flagship competitions are one of the biggest competitions in India, with SCMU'15being Asia's biggest competition, A record that was later broken by China Championships in 2016. SCMU'15 still stands to Be India's biggest Rubiks Cube competition till date!

SCMU 2013 Rubiks Cube Mosaic

SCMU 2014 Just like 2013, SCMU 2014 was held at Infiniti Mall, Malad. SCMU 2014 was the first Tournament in Indian Cubing History to include all official 18 speedcubing events. SCMU 2014 was covered by Times of India - Crest Edition, DNA west coast , Mid Day and Radio Mirchi 92.7 FM.

SCMU 2015 With 254 Participants SCMU 2015 was the largest competition in India and 8th largest in the world. It was also Asia's Biggest Rubiks Cube Competition, A record that was later broken by China Championship in 2016. SCMU'15 Still stands to be Indias Biggest Rubiks Cube Competition!

SCMU 2017 Dates: 1st-3rd September. Venue: K.J. Somaiya College Of Engineering. Plan to break the record and organise India's biggest cube competition with an expected participation of over 400 participants from all over India and outside. A gross total of approximately 500 or more visitors can be expected. We have a client base of over 6000 customers who will be notified about the event at least two months in advance by news letters, FB Posts, Twitter & Instagram. Prize pool planned to be over 2.5 Lakhs.

Special Guest 'Mats Valk' from Netherlands will be coming to SCMU'17 Mats Valk is a World Class Speedcuber and has held The 3x3 World Record multiple times. This is the First Time a World Class Speedcuber is Coming to an Indian Competition. His presence is sure to draw speedcubers from all over The Country and Outside.

Crowd Profile We have participants ranging between 5 years and 63 years old. However, a majority of the participants are teenagers. Participants are usually accompanied by family and friends. There is also a general audience who come to the venue exclusively to witness the event. Taking these factors into consideration, we expect the competition to draw crowds of 2,000 or more people a day.

PRESS COVERAGE There will be a press conference with Mats Valk along with a few other celebrities. One of bollywoods most notable Choreographer,Sandeep Soparkar is the brand ambassador of SCMU. The event might have the presence of a celebrity.
