Things that you should NEVER say during an Ergonomic evaluation: Never use these words: Hurt, Pain or injury Never use these terms: Carpel Tunnel Syndrome (CTS), Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) Never use Medical terminology: You are not a Doctor Never Provide a Diagnosis: You are not a Doctor Never give Medical advice: You are not a Doctor Never correct statements provided to you by employees: Never tell the individual that you are there to fix a problem Never provide a corrective action directly to an employee.

Things that you CAN say during an Ergonomic evaluation: You can use these words: Stress, discomfort, fatigue, ache If some tells you a story about an injury your only response should be: “That is very interesting. Thank you for sharing.” Do not either acknowledge or ignore their comments. I am here to rather information. I will write up my review and present it for consideration. Be general in your comments: Your employer values you so much that they have asked that I meet with you to see If there is anything that I see that could make your job more efficient and easier for you to perform. There may possibly be some room for improvement.
