Presentation transcript:

6th Grade Behavior Contract There is one rule for Ms. Bruce’s Language Arts classroom: BE RESPECTFUL OF AND TO YOUR PEERS, YOUR TEACHER AND YOURSELF. We come to school each day to learn, and we will do so this year by working together to create a cooperative classroom community. You alone are responsible for your actions. To adhere to our one classroom rule, you must: Be respectful of and to your peers: Look at your classmates when they speak. If you disagree with something they have to say, respectfully acknowledge their opinion, then you may give your own. Rudeness and derogatory remarks will not be tolerated! Don’t touch your classmates… or their belongings. Be mindful of personal space and stick to your own “bubble.” Be respectful of and to your teacher: Don’t disrupt lessons. Raise your hand and wait to be called on. Remember to bring your supplies to class. I have extras in case of an emergency but I do not have an endless supply of loose-leaf paper and pens! Be careful when using/borrowing books and other school materials. Please do not alter or destroy any furniture or postings in the classroom. If you have a better idea for how something should look, come and talk to me and perhaps we can reach an agreement for design. Think about the words you are using before they come out of your mouth. If you wouldn’t say them to your grandmother, I do not expect you to say them to me. Be respectful of and to yourself: Be on time and ready to learn! Make the most of your 6th grade year. Follow directions the first time they are given. Otherwise, you might get lost. If you have a question, ask for clarification. Never give up! Study and complete your work assignments on time. You owe it to yourself! By signing below, I agree to fully commit myself to being respectful of and to my peers, my teacher and myself this school year. Signed: _________________________________ Date: ___________________________________ *A copy of this behavior contract will be stored in class, as well as in the front of your “Language Arts” section of your binder.
