Background to the mobile unit Part of the Scottish Strategy for Clinical Skills Key tool to address inequality in access to training On the road since January 2009 2 year pilot funded by NES The unit A 25 sq m classroom, for up to 16 people State of the art equipment Can be used for wide range skills Hosted by the University of Dundee A Scottish Registered Charity - No. SC015096

First year of the pilot (2009) 11 remote/rural venues visited Over 800 people trained Approximately 110 skills courses delivered - from 2 hours (self-revision skills stations) to 3 days (ALS course) Wide range skills delivered: Emergency care adult / child / maternity Communication skills Clinical assessment Patient management Health promotion Cross sector skills Procedural skills Hosted by the University of Dundee A Scottish Registered Charity - No. SC015096
