Basic principles of fire

Sources of ignition

Sources of fuel Solids – these include, wood, paper, cardboard, wrapping materials, plastics, rubber, foam, textiles, waste materials, hair.

Sources of fuel Liquids – these include, paint, varnish, thinners, adhesives, petrol, paraffin, acetone

Sources of fuel Gases – flammable gases include LPG, acetylene and hydrogen.

Oxygen Oxygen provides by air and is enhanced by natural or powered ventilation systems.
