Presentation transcript:

Hallelujah Night Friday, October 31st 14 Halloween Alternative is an alternative to trick-or-treating and other traditional Halloween activities sponsored by several Protestant Chapel congregations, the Protestant Sunday School program, the Protestant Women of the Chapel, and the Protestant Men of the Chapel. The event is for children ages 4 through 11. (Those age 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult.) This year’s “Hallelujah Night” actually will be on Halloween, October 31st (the night for trick-or-treat activities in post housing areas), from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, at the Army Reserve Center on Lane Avenue at 15th Street. Children should arrive between 5:40 and 6:00. The program begins at 6:00 with singing, stories, and other presentations. This will be followed by carnival-style games with Biblical themes in which everyone wins. At each game, children will enjoy a short (20 seconds or so) “lesson” on that game’s theme. All children are welcome, regardless of faith group and chapel or church affiliation. However, parents should note that many lessons and themes are distinctly Christian in nature. No one will be admitted after 6:30. Appropriate, non-scary costumes are welcomed. Recommend children dress as favorite Biblical characters or patriotic heroes. “Admission” (or requested donation) is one big bag of candy per child or family. However, be assured that no one will be turned away for not having this! If you have questions, call the Fort Gordon Religious Education Center at 706-791-4703. Games, Crafts, Singing, & Lots of Candy For Children Ages 4 to 11 Friday, October 31st 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Army Reserve Center (Lane Avenue at 15th Street) Questions? Call 706-791-4703.
