RECYCLING IN WILLOWWOOD SOOJI KIM & AUSTIN SMITH [Environment and Resource Management]

What do you think is wrong in this photo??

USED TISSUES DO NOT GO IN THE RECYCLING. THEY GO IN THE TRASH. As you see, this recycling bin is only for papers. Products such as, goes into the recycling bin. *IMPORTANT ALERT* USED TISSUES DO NOT GO IN THE RECYCLING. THEY GO IN THE TRASH.

How about other garbage? YOU KNOW WHERE..! THIS IS FOR THE‘C’ HALLWAY

Then what garbage goes where? Candy wraps Used Tissue Plastic bag Styrofoam

BOTTLES & CANS Plastic BOTTLES for water or juices Aluminum Cans

Why is recycling important? Since toxic chemicals are released by recyclable products, when they are not recycled, it causes pollution that can cause cancer. Plastic particles from plastic products if not recycled can pollute our water which is a good time for no one. If you don’t recycle areas of nature will be cleared to create landfills for waste that could easily have been recycled! It actually takes 1 plastic bottle at least 450 years to decompose! That’s at least 450 years of garbage polluting the land and leaking chemicals into the ground.(*1) In Canada 65 million water bottles are thrown in the trash every year! (*2)

How can we fix it? SIMPLE; Put the garbage in the correct bins.

Think about… How easy it is for you to reach the garbage bin in the school. [It does not even take a minute!! RIGHT?] What you can do to help our environment in our school and your daily life.

THANK YOU AND HAVE A NICE DAY. P.S; NOW YOU KNOW WHAT YOU SHOULD DO WITH YOUR TRASH AND RECYCLING, SO PLEASE DO SO.
