Scenario A: The city is considering purchasing a vacant warehouse in a blighted section of town. The area was once a busy manufacturing district along a riverfront near the downtown area. The city would like to convert the warehouse to a facility that provides a community service. The goal is to encourage redevelopment of the area. Our Selection: Catskills, NY

Benefits -The Gymnasium helps provide kids and adults with activities that help make them more healthy and fit which is something this community lacks. - We are also having a kitchen because it helps the people that don't have much get some food to eat. Also, it helps the children get a meal when there parents are at work. - We have created a community garden so the community can get together and help each other. It also will help the community by providing them with healthy foods that they can grow themselves everyday.

Health and Safety Engineering In this community the one major problem is with bug infestation due to all the abandoned buildings and open space. We have addressed this situation so nobody in our community center gets harmed. I have provided the community with 30 experienced pest control professionals to make sure they are no problems anywhere near the community. For safety reasons I will create a safety team which will be from the community to ensure that community residents have the proper knowledge and tools to protect themselves and their loved ones.

Environmental Engineering To make sure the community is safe and healthy we will use the environment to help make it better. We will encourage for everyone to get together and work on the fruits/vegetable that is being grown in our community garden. This will make the community much healthier. Another problem is water safety. Since this community is slowly developing they are having problems with getting clean water. We will provide each family with an MVP Filter. This filter can have impact on up to 100 people per day. It has a lifespan of more than 1 million gallons it can provide clean water for a small village for just pennies a day and we will provide each family with it to make sure you have clean water everyday.

Cost Estimation Demolition Work - $9,936.17 Gymnasium - $276801.98 Office - $10000 Kitchen - $16,000 Garden - $300.00 Other Expenses and Needs: 114,863 (water, electricity, etc…) Total Cost: $427901.15
