Basic Facts Indiana is the 19th State. It was admitted as the 19th state on December 11th, 1816. The capital of Indiana is Indianapolis. It’s nickname is the Hoosier State. It’s State Flower is the Peony flower. It’s State Tree is the Tulip Tree. Indiana has never produced a president. Indiana is also home to world record holders for largest collection of cookie jars, batman memorabilia, and most “rump jumps” performed in one minute (56).
Attractions Attractions in Indiana include the Indianapolis Zoo, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the Soldier’s and Sailor’s Monument, and Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts.
