Geometry Jacob Barron

Area of a square and rectangle Defintion: The amount of space you need to fill up. The formula is width*height To find the area of a square is width*height To find the area of a rectangle is width*height

I want to place grass in my square yard. It's 46ft by 30ft I want to place grass in my square yard. It's 46ft by 30ft. If a bag of grass cost $20 and covers 100ft. How many bags will I need to cover my yard? 46*30=1380/100 answer=14 bags Example 1

Perimeter Definition: All of the edges added up Add up all edges is how to find the perimeter Formula A+B+C+D=perimeter

I want to fence my 640ft yard. A bag of fence cost $20 I want to fence my 640ft yard. A bag of fence cost $20.95 and covers 20ft. How many bags do I need. It is a square yard. Formula is 640/20=p Answer=32 bags Example 2

Volume Area of a 3D shape Multiply width*length*height Formula is W*L*H

Example 3 What is the volume of a measuring cup. If the width is 5”,the height is 6”and, the length is 5”. Formula is 5*5*6=volume answer=150”

Surface Area The surface area of a solid object is the total area of the object's faces. Multiply all faces then add all them.

Example 4 I want find the surface area of my house. If the house is a square and all the sides are 5'. What is the surface area of the house. Formula is 5*6=surface area Answer=30'
