Standard measurement A system of measuring that uses inches, feet, yards, and miles to describe distance, where an inch is divided into 16ths. (Also known as: English, US Customary or conventional measuring.) INCH RULER

Metric measurement A system of measuring based on the decimal system, where centimeters, meters, and kilometers, are used to describe distance.

Linear Measurement A measurement of the length of a line.
