Warm-up Read about the Shang Dynasty. Make sure to highlight or underline key facts. Answer questions 1-5

Similarities between the Egyptians and Chinese burials of rulers? Both had large and fancy tombs. (Many Egyptian pyramids were tombs for pharaohs) Both included things that the person would need in their afterlife. Like clothing, jewelry, animals, people, chariots, etc. Both decorated their tombs with extravagant artwork

Shang Dynasty’s End In 1028 B.C. the Chou joined with other tribes in western China and overthrew the Shang. The Chou Dynasty would go on to rule for the next 800 years

Rivers The Shang Dynasty relied on the Yellow (Huang He) River Lasted from 1750 BC- 1028 BC About 700 years
