TEXT STRUCTURES REVIEW

WHICH STRUCTURE DOES THIS FOLLOW? Without meaning to, the boy hit the baseball through the window. The window shattered, startling the family inside and causing a huge commotion.

Cause and Effect!

Which structure does this follow? People think that smoking only affects themselves. Unfortunately, second hand smoke can sometimes be just as fatal as smoking. What needs to happen is states need to create better outreach programs for those who struggle with this deadly habit.

Problem and Solution!

Which structure does this follow? In 1955, Emmett Till, only 14 years old, was murdered. The murderers were let go without conviction. Later, those who were accused of the murder admitted to it in a magazine interview, but still were not convicted. Shortly after this horrific event, the civil rights movement became stronger than ever before.

Chronological!

Which structure does this follow? Even though the tiger may seem like a ferocious animal, they are actually quite friendly if treated in the right way. Tigers are known for their playful nature, as well as their ability to protect.

Description!

Which structure does this follow? Making a quilt is not as hard as it looks. First, find material that suits you. Second, cut out squares of fabric. Make sure that all of the squares are the same size. Lastely, sew all of the squares together. After this, the hard part is done.

Sequence!

Which structure does this follow? Snorkeling and scuba diving are similar, but there are some key differences. When snorkeling, one usually does not go all the way under water. The gear is simple: a tube and a mask. Scuba diving, on the other hand, requires full submersion in water as well as a full body suit and air tank.

Which structure does this follow? Attendence has become a major problem in public schools. Parents excuse students for illigitimate reasons, resulting in missed information and lower test scores. Districts need to create a policy where students are held accountable for their presence in class.

Problem and Solution!

Which structure does this follow? Utah is the best place to live. To begin with, Utah is known for its majestic mountains and top notch ski resorts. People from all around the nation come to Utah just to experience the fresh, powdery snow coupled with the bright sun.
