Definition Preparing individuals for employment in career pathways that relate to families and human needs.

Pathways Early Childhood Development Counseling and Mental Health Services Family and Community Services Personal Care Services Consumer Services

Early Childhood Services For people who work to nurture and teach children in developmental years. They provide services in childcare, preschools, and before & after school programs. Each state has its own licensing requirements ranging from a high school diploma to community college courses.

Occupations: Childcare Worker Nanny Preschool Teacher

Counseling and Mental Health People in this field usually work in hospitals, schools, or private settings. Most counselor’s have a master’s degree or doctoral degree and are licensed. All states require a school counselor to hold a state school counseling certification. Employment is this area is expected to grow.
