Agenda Agenda What is English Language Development? How do we support all learners in using academic discourse? How is it connected to mathematics content? Why does selecting purposeful tasks matter? How can we use student discourse as formative assessment?

What is English Language Development? and . . . How is it connected to mathematics content?

Receptive language is the ability to listen and understand language. Expressive language is the ability to communicate with others using language.
