What is Green Impact? Sustainable Campus sustainablecampus.unimelb.edu.au Green Impact is a change and engagement programme. Where individuals get into teams and work together to undertake a diverse range of sustainability actions. These actions cover all areas of sustainability across campus life – i.e. travel, engagement waste, health and wellbeing etc. The GI programme uses friendly competition to motivate teams. Sustainable Campus How was the pilot year? 277 people taking part across 30 teams and a total of 588 actions completed sustainablecampus.unimelb.edu.au How we finished off last year What we achieved in 2017: 30 teams sign up (22 reach accreditation level), with 274 people taking part and achieving 588 sustainability based actions! 22 Teams reached and accreditation level and 397 actions were as a direct result of the program. Fantastic Award ceremony with over 100 people attending inaural ceremony
How will it work in 2018? The program cycle is the same for 2018! Student Assistants! Sustainable Campus KEY THING TO HIGHLIGHT: sustainablecampus.unimelb.edu.au KEY THING TO HIGHLIGHT: 100% of teams that had a student assistant found them very helpful! Significant element of the program to foster stronger staff/student relationships. Key element and one we will focus on in 2018! As teams often don’t have time Student want work experience Win-win for everyone. Staff teams get extra resources/fresh input etc Students get valuable work experience, can feel like they are making a difference So we will be training up students – and ask around in your departments if you are an academic to get students on board
