THE KOREAN WAR The Korean War occurred prior to the Vietnam War (1950-1953). Again, the NORTH was Communist (supported by China & the USSR) Again, the SOUTH was free, democratic (supported by the U.S.)

THE KOREAN WAR The Korean War ended in a cease-fire or armistice. A demilitarized zone separates North Korea from South Korea today (38th parallel). It was not unified like Vietnam. The U.N. has a constant presence to help maintain peace, as well as soldiers from both countries.
