Purpose The purpose of this presentation is to give beginning runners a training plan for a marathon. The training plan is mathematically developed using patterns.

TRAINING SCHEDULE Week # Week 1 Week 2 Week 3 Week 4 Week 5 Week 6 Miles 10 14 13 17 16 20 19 23 22 26 Week # Week 11 Week 12 Week 13 Week 14 Week 15 Week 16 Week 17 Week 18 Week 19 Week 20 Miles 25 29 28 32 31 35 34 38 37 41 The pattern is increase your mileage by 4 one week, decrease by 1 mile the next week, repeat. BONUS: Equation for your pattern

It is necessary for us to maintain good exercise programs and healthy eating habits. Training for a marathon is only one way to remain in good shape. Various exercise programs can yield similar results. Furthermore, helping others to learn healthy living is a very rewarding experience. We can better serve ourselves and others if we are healthy.
