Welcome to Principles of Information Technology (P.I.T.) Mrs. Stavinoha Room 305A

Overview High School Credit Course (1 Credit) Curriculum Content: Alphabetic Keyboard MS Office skills Photo Editing – students will photos to put themselves in a new setting. Design Techniques – Students design their own logo and t-shirt. Audio Editing – Students edit their own voice to record scripts with a variety of characters. Music Creation – Students will create their own original songs. Video Editing – Students learn to film and edit their own video.

Grading Daily Grades = 40% Major Grades = 60% Daily assignments Projects Tests

Classroom Expectations/Policies BE ON TIME: to class and with your assignments Be respectful to others and your equipment. No food, drinks, or gum is allowed in computer lab. Do not lean back in your chair. 3 Restroom Passes per marking period.

Computer Responsibilities Headphones will be provided (but you may bring your own each day if you wish). Absolutely no games or Internet surfing without prior permission. Maintain your computer equipment and do not damage the hardware Do not try to fix your computer, accidents CAN happen and other problems DO occur, so please let me know about computer problems, so that you are not held responsible.

Attendance Be in the room when bell rings. If you are not inside the room when the bell rings you will be referred to the tardy table. When absent, check the assignment board to see what work you missed. It is your responsibility to keep up with missed assignments!!

Tutorials Tutorials are scheduled on an “as needed” basis. Students need to schedule an appointment with the teacher to make up or catch-up on work in the lab. The lab can be made available most afternoons Monday – Thursday 2:30-3:30 pm. ****Note: late bus only available on Tuesday and Thursday
