How to Make A Good Presentation Ms. Alltucker

HOW TO MAKE A GOOD PRESENTATION #1. Find a signature font, background, size, colors, theme and style. Take time to create a good master slide. You can use a PowerPoint format. OR you can use an image.

HOW TO MAKE A GOOD PRESENTATION

HOW TO MAKE A GOOD PRESENTATION #2. Use the branding font if available. If the company has established a branding font, it is for a purpose, and it is an excellent way to prove to a company your knowledge and use of their brand. Companies have usually chosen this font as it aligns with their colors, logo, etc. and has been proven to appeal to the masses.

HOW TO MAKE A GOOD PRESENTATION #3. Use a sans serif font. Sans serif fonts are fonts that have no artifacts at the end of their characters. These fonts are proven to be more successful because they look cleaner on a screen. Most text blocks on a slide are short, and they don’t need the connection between letters that sans serif font tends to create.

HOW TO MAKE A GOOD PRESENTATION #4. Use a common font to prevent cross-platform woes. This suggestion is to use a font that is more likely available on a variety of computers.

HOW TO MAKE A GOOD PRESENTATION #5. Size fonts according to the presentation environment. Designers suggest that you should use a size between 20 and 24 points for body text, and anything above 28 points for title text. Know the size and layout of the room that you’re presenting in, and the decorations, etc.

HOW TO MAKE A GOOD PRESENTATION #6. Only two fonts on a slide. Too many fonts can be distracting to the eye. Choose a font that comes from a large “family” then you have more variety for emphasizing text, etc.

HOW TO MAKE A GOOD PRESENTATION #7. Using all caps is bad, so is underlining. All caps reads slower in addition to underlined words. The point of electronic presentations is to present only important information, so avoid using ALL caps or underlining - it can slow down audience interpretation.

HOW TO MAKE A GOOD PRESENTATION #8. Color plays a major role. The best suggestion is to use a darker background, with a lighter font, for contrast. Contrast and readability are very important.

HOW TO MAKE A GOOD PRESENTATION #9. Too much is a loss. Less is more, when preparing presentations. Your chances of delivering the most important message are better. Too much text and graphics can distract they eye of the audience.

HOW TO MAKE A GOOD PRESENTATION As anyone knows who has created a PowerPoint or Star Office presentation, there are a wide variety of fonts to choose from, many of which have quirks and limitations. A very common problem encountered by professionals, is the creation of a presentation on one computer, and when it is transferred to another, the fonts do not transfer and the formatting can be corrupt. The other obvious issue with fonts is that some fonts and graphics and color layouts are more appealing to the eye, then others. In the marketing world, presentation appeal can make or a break a million dollar deal. If the client has a touch time reading a proposal pitched in a PowerPoint, they may lose the value the entire campaign has to offer.

HOW TO MAKE A GOOD PRESENTATION #10. Printed text reads better in serif. If you are providing handouts for your audience, a serif font, such as Time New Roman is more readable. If you are only printing off your notes from the presentation, it is acceptable to print them as is. #10. Printed text reads better in serif. HOW TO MAKE A GOOD PRESENTATION #11. Test it. Type the entire alphabet, capital and lower case, on one screen. You can then project the one slide to check and see how the font, size, spacing, etc. look.

HOW TO MAKE A GOOD PRESENTATION #12. Do not use paragraphs. As shown before, paragraphs are hard and take too long to read. You want your viewer to see the most important information quickly. Bullets are great to use!

HOW TO MAKE A GOOD PRESENTATION #13. Be careful with animation. Too much animation can be unprofessional. If you use animation, make sure it is timed correctly. Make sure animation is consistent.

HOW TO MAKE A GOOD PRESENTATION #14. Images are good. Many people are visual learners and learn best with images/pictures. Images keep the audience from getting bored. Graphics help reiterate your point.

HOW TO MAKE A GOOD PRESENTATION T-shirt sales were highest on Thursday.

HOW TO MAKE A GOOD PRESENTATION Grasshoppers can destroy crops.

HOW TO MAKE A GOOD PRESENTATION #15. ALWAYS proofreeead. Mistakes projected onto a screen, are literally and figuratively bigger then you want, and can distract and even ruin your repootation. Check your technioloGy compatibility and limitations.
